More Doctors Stories

Hello. We are just recovering from another let down at the doctors office. Gerricks doctor thought that his MRI showed a rotator cuff tear. We had thought that would mean a surgery with about a 12 week recovery time. This wasn't desirable, but livable. The surgeon we saw on Friday said there was no tear, just a bruise. This was good news, but what followed wasn't. He said Gerrick showed signs of a tear in some lip-like thingy (technical term, hope you can keep up) that would definitely not heal on it's own. This surgery, if needed, would be at least a 6 month recovery. No lifting, no computer bag, no cases of products....no work. So, we had two choices, we could do physical therapy and shoulder shots for 6 weeks to see if the pain is just the bruise on the rotator cuff. If in this time he isn't better then we would do another test that injects dye into the shoulder joint to better see if the lip-like thingy is tore for sure. If the tear is seen, then we have the surgery. (I know I keep saying we, but I do feel like this is an "us" process.) Or, we can do the test now and find out whether there is a tear or not. We are doing the test. I just want to know for sure what is wrong. I don't think that Gerrick would have a positive attitude in therapy if in the back of his mind the thought of surgery was keeping him down.
So, we know less and less every time we step into a doctors office. Keep praying for us, and the doctors. I would like this over, and soon!!!
