Education Update
So, after my last final last Thursday, my instructor came to me and wanted to "talk". She is one of my favorite instructors, and one of the most intelligent ones as well. I enjoy talking with her and listening to her lectures, she has a lot to say! Anyway, I digress, she wanted to discuss my career plans, which I thought was weird because she knows my plans, we discuss it a lot. So, after talking about hard to get into classes at Kirkwood and the long waiting list for the program she started talking about a transfer to Iowa. I used to be very against that because of fear, but she told me how she thought I was so smart and was really selling myself short not to challenge myself with the University's program. Then she threw out that she thought I should go to medical school....I quickly smashed that!!! Too much time away from the kids. But, she put a bug in my ear about the PA program at Iowa. It is one of the best in the nation, and once graduated I would work office hours, no on-call, and make a lot more money right out of school that if I did the BSN program at Iowa. Her mom works in a medical office and was telling her how in-demand PAs are right now, and she thought of me!?! So, I have started to look into it. I won't be there in the fall because of application deadlines, but maybe in the spring. I got a lot of good ideas from Mom, as well, about programs that would get the same results, but get the RN first and continue in school while working. If anyone has other information about this I would love to see it. I am still not set on a path......I'm only 28, why should I know what I want to be when I grow up, yet???

WOW. What a wonderful few weeks we have had. I am DONE with classes for the summer and loving the sunny days!!! The girls are still in school, so the boys and Reagan have been just loving the time alone with mom!
Mother's day was fun! The kids made me some beautiful flower arrangements with Mom last weekend when she stayed. They were soooo proud of their work, and they should be!! Shae also made me a pot in art. We went to lunch at the Texas Road House, it was surprisingly good. Then I came home and took a 3 hour nap!!! I was worn out from working 18 hours on 3 hours of sleep!! I left my house Friday at 4p.m. and didn't get home until Saturday at 6 or 7p.m. I was DEAD!!! My boss, however, made it all better by buying me a flower to wear for Mother's Day church!! I thought he was still mad because I walked out Friday....after doing 90% of the nights work when there were 6 people working, and refusing to work Mother's Day brunch. But, apparently he wasn't too mad.
Well, it is almost noon and I have a sun to go lay in!! Have a great day....and be watching for an education update soon, I think I am changing my major.....PA sounds good!
