Friday.....done and gone!

Well, I had a pretty good night at work. It is, of course, the Iowa/Iowa State football game weekend. So, we were pretty busy. On top of that we had the big-shot owners in. They are really nice, but my bosses freak out and want everything perfect!! So, they made me serve them!! They tipped me fat, so I was happy! The night went fast and I am happy to be home early.
Tomorrow I am getting the house ready for guests. I have the day to do that, and then I have to go back to work in the evening. Hoping for another night worth my time!
Today was pretty good. I had the two tests, and they went fine. I think I got A's on both of them. It is amazing how I over study. The tests are so general and the questions so leading!! I stress for no reason. But, on my way home with the kids from day care, the van quit. Well, that's not entirely true. All the electrical devises quit. I couldn't roll my windows up or down, the air conditioner was blowing HOT air, and the radio was "flickering" when I tried to mess with anything. I also didn't have turn signals, and I assume, break lights. So, there I was 2 miles from home thinking I would have to walk the kids. Then I noticed if I kept the peddle just down a little then the car would continue to go. I was only going around 10mph (I couldn't tell because the gas gage and speedometer weren't working) but I was going. So, I got on the side roads and made it home. When I got in the driveway and turned the car off THEN it died. I tried to restart it and got the sound it makes when the battery is dead. I am thinking it is the alternator, but something definitely with the electrical parts. Gerrick is going to spend tomorrow looking at that. He should be a joy to be around. I told him that as I was praying to make it home, that it was definitely prayer and God that got me here!! That car should still be sitting down by the cemetery on 8th!!! So, at least we only have to fix it, not tow it and fix it!!!
Time to go to bed. I am tired, and a long day is looming over me! See some of you Sunday, the rest enjoy the great weather!!!

Killing Time

Hello all. I am killing time on the computer. I really have no time to kill, but am procrastinating. I have two tests tomorrow, and one will be very difficult. As of now I have spent 20 minutes studying, and am already bored. I know the material, but am scared it will be a very detailed test. I have done well on her quizzes, but fear the worst for the first test!! So, obviously the thing to do is sit on the computer.....
The kids are having a great week. The girls have gotten back into the routine of practicing spell words and reading after dinner. Shae really picks up new things fast. Her spell words include listen, learn, and school. She has done well with learning these and the others. Keghan is working on sound words like, chiming, drummed, hammering, and patting. Keghan has 14 words on her list!!! That is a lot to learn, but she is doing well!
Braydon has been out of control this week. Every time I turn around he is doing something. Today he was running through the house. He was told three times to stop, but didn't. After being told the fourth time he ran into the front window and put his hand through it. Luckily he didn't get cut. After dad cleaned up the glass I had a talk with him about listening and how we know how accidents can be prevented so we have to be careful. He just looked at me and listened. When I was all done he said, "Mom, I didn't bleed. I think I am turning into Super Man." He was so serious. I explained that he wasn't born on planed Krypton, and that his molecular structure isn't that dense. He was a little bummed. I had the day care watch to make sure he wasn't being risky to test his theory!!! The kid is smart!!!
Well, gotta study. I tried learning by osmosis in high school, and we all know how that turned out!! So, I will actually open the books and read the material.

Just a Quick Hello

This is going to be short and sweet.
I have had a great weekend. Friday I worked until 11, and made no money for the 5th working night in a row. I was starting to get upset, but I know that my job goes in cycles and better now when I have my student loans than 2 weeks ago when we had to buy books!!! I got off and took my friend Melanie home. She is still working on her license, and has been one of the only people I know that really doesn't drive without her license.
I got home and finished cleaning the house, doing laundry and headed to bed. Then on Saturday Gerrick went and roofed for a few hours in the morning. The kids and I went to the store and bought stuff for the first football party on Sunday. Then we packed bags and picked up the house yet again. We took off for my cousin Jen's wedding around 5. It was a beautiful ceremony. She looked absolutely stunning!!! We had a great time talking to all the family. It is always nice to have everyone together. Then after the reception Mom and Tom took my oldest 4 and Jordan to their house. They wanted to!!! They must have had a death wish. Then Gerrick and I got some sushi and went home. We went to bed early because we had to be on the road at 6:30 to get to my Mom's church. The kids were singing with Grandma and Grandpa for Grandparent's Day. They sounded great! Braydon walked up to the microphone and blew on it in first service, and then tickled the piano keys on his way up in second service. Leave it to Braydon!!
After church Mom and Tom took us to a Chinese buffet. We filled up and headed home....we had people coming over!! On the way home we stopped and bought the girls new bikes. They were really out growing theirs, and needed new ones bad. It has rained non-stop since, but they are still out riding their bikes continuously.
We had dinner with some friends and watched the late game. It was nice to have some people over again. We kinda get too busy in the summer, and really miss the good times!!!
Today I had class and worked. It was much busier, and I finally made some money. Tomorrow I have Christian Woman's Brunch at 9, then I go to school, then I go straight from school to work. So, I am sitting up waiting for my uniform to be clean so I can go to sleep! Tuesdays are the busiest, and the brunch just adds to it. I do enjoy it, though, so I still go.
ANNOUNCEMENT-----Shaelynn and Reagan will be having a joint Birthday Party this Sunday at our house at 3p.m. Anyone is invited for cake and ice cream. We will probably have a cook out afterwards for anyone who wants to stick around. I understand that everyone has things to do as well, so no big deal!!

Have a great night, I hear the laundry beeping!!!
P.S. I got a new table....well, used, but new to me!!!
