I am tired. This is supposed to be a relaxing long weekend. Instead it will be a tiresome long weekend. I am working extra hours because of the first home football game. I was hoping to make money last night, but we had too many servers. I am pretty sure we could have gone with 3, but had 5 and a busser!!! I love my busser, and he does a great job, but paying out tips on a night when I didn't make much is a little disappointing. I work tonight, and hopefully that will save the weekend. Gerrick is also pulling some extra hours. He is roofing another house. It is hard work, and he is usually pretty beat up after, but it is worth the money. At least I think so!! He will meet me at my job at 5 and take over the kiddies. Then he goes back after church tomorrow to finish up. At least we have Monday to see each other, hopefully!!!
The kids have been outside most of the morning. It is really nice out. I, on the other hand, haven't even bathed yet. I am really lazy today. My house is messy, and I don't care. I figure I will have time tomorrow while Gerrick is gone. I have been doing some studying, but mostly I have been taking care of Reagan. She has been sick. This morning there was another pile of yack in her bed. I told Gerrick not to give her milk, but apparently he didn't listen!!! I am starting to think she is allergic to cow milk. When she did the switch she had a lot of diarrhea. Now she has been vomiting. I thought it was teeth, but it has lasted a while. I am going to cut her off for a few days and see if it helps.
Well, back to the books. Have a great day.....and weekend if I don't make it back!

Beautiful Day
What a great day!!! The kids and I got up early and read some books. Braydon really likes to read. The girls went to school with Gerrick. I think they are really liking school this year.
I got to look at the bacteria that I cultured last week. It was GREAT. There were several colonies. It is difficult to know how much to put on and how long to flame it, but I caught on quickly. I stained 4 different colonies. They all turned out pretty well and it was neat to see what all lives on a soap dispenser. This is not an activity that Grandma VanLengen would enjoy.....they live EVERYWHERE!!!
I had a test in German yesterday and a quiz in A&P. I did well on both, I missed one in A&P because I second guessed myself. I should really not do that. I get the German back tomorrow, if I missed one I will be very upset!
Tomorrow the girls have no school, but I do! So, I have to find something to do with them for a few hours. Hopefully Gerrick will just take them with him, or I can take them with me. I really hate those days for their sake....they are just bored!!! But, maybe they will get to sit in on an A&P class, every young child's dream, right?
Time to go, lots to do. Study, clean, wash clothes, and yell at Gerrick. I have become a champion in the latter!! He just looks at me and laughs, probably the best thing to do under the circumstances!! I don't really yell about anything in particular, I just need to yell and he's there.....poor Gerrick. I put up with his smelly feet, he puts up with my moods, it's a match made in heaven.

Where's the camera when you need it????
When I got Reagan up this morning she looked a little pale. She didn't feel hot, and acted pretty normal, so I took her to day care. I let the day care provider know that she was a little pale, but she said she could stay. She ate lunch and was quite, but overall normal. As I turned the corner off the highway she blew chunks ALL OVER ME!! See, now her seat is facing forward, and that means I am in the "BLAMO" zone. It was great. Milk, peas and goulosh. It was all over me, her, the seat, and the car seat. It was a good hour of clean up!!! Wish I had snapped a photo, but didn't think of it, hope the mental picture is enough!

Stolen.....
This is stolen from a friends blog, which was stolen from Paul Harvey. ENJOY!
Paul Harvey Writes:
We tried so hard to make things better for our kids that we made them worse. For my grandchildren, I'd like better.
I'd really like for them to know about hand me down clothes and homemade ice cream and leftover meat loaf sandwiches. I really would.
I hope you learn humility by being humiliated, and that you learn honesty by being cheated.
I hope you learn to make your own bed and mow the lawn and wash the car.
And I really hope nobody gives you a brand new car when you are sixteen.
It will be good if at least one time you can see puppies born and your old dog put to sleep.
I hope you get a black eye fighting for something you believe in.
I hope you have to share a bedroom with your younger brother/sister. And it's all right if you have to draw a line down the middle of the room, but when he wants to crawl under the covers with you because he's scared, I hope you let him.
When you want to see a movie and your little brother/sister wants to tag along, I hope you'll let him/her.
I hope you have to walk uphill to school with your friends and that you live in a town where you can do it safely.
On rainy days when you have to catch a ride, I hope you don't ask your driver to drop you two blocks away so you won't be seen riding with someone as uncool as your Mom.
If you want a slingshot, I hope your Dad teaches you how to make one instead of buying one.
I hope you learn to dig in the dirt and read books.
When you learn to use computers, I hope you also learn to add and subtract in your head.
I hope you get teased by your friends when you have your first crush on a boy.. girl, and when you talk back to your mother that you learn what ivory soap tastes like.
May you skin your knee climbing a mountain, burn your hand on a stove and stick your tongue on a frozen flagpole.
I don't care if you try a beer once, but I hope you don't like it. And if a friend offers you dope or a joint, I hope you realize he is not your friend.
I sure hope you make time to sit on a porch with your Grandma/Grandpa and go fishing with your Uncle.
May you feel sorrow at a funeral and joy during the holidays.
I hope your mother punishes you when you throw a baseball through your neighbor's window and that she hugs you and kisses you at Hanukkah/Christmas time when you give her a plaster mold of your hand.
These things I wish for you - tough times and disappointment, hard work and happiness. To me, it's the only way to appreciate life.
Written with a pen. Sealed with a kiss. I'm here for you. And if I die before you do, I'll go to heaven and wait for you

Tuesday.....
Well, another week successfully started. The kids have gotten quickly back into their routine, and I am slowly figuring mine out. The boys are doing great at day care, and Reagan fit right back in at Ruthies! I am so glad my kids are well behaved, it would be so stressful to have to deal with fits while dropping them at day care! It's hard enough to leave now!
I had a great day at school yesterday. I had German, which is going fast but I am hanging in, and Human Anatomy and Physiology. We got to work on the cadaver. I did a little with the cadaver 2 semesters ago and loved it. This one was new and they are still dissecting him. It was quite interesting. I know most of you don't want to hear the details, so I won't go into them....
Then I went to work....fun. We were DEAD all night. Then right before close we got busy. We have some farm thing going on and they are really rude! They just came into the dining room and started moving tables, chairs, plants...whatever was in their way!! I didn't get out until after 1 because I am too nice and helped the bartender. She was behind because she had a crowd all night. Then we went and had frozen pizza at a dive by her house. You know it is a dive when the crank on the toaster oven to cook you a frozen pizza, but we didn't care we were starving!!!
I don't have class until 3 today, so I am getting some stuff done around the house. And by that I mean playing on the computer!! Reagan is sleeping and the boys are playing in the basement, so I am playing instead of studying....old habits die hard.
Have a great day.

Happy Sunday
Hello! What a wonderful day.
Last night we had our annual block party/neighborhood watch party. This year we had almost everyone there. Some of the ladies also brought their grandchildren so the kids had lots of playmates. They had a blast!!! Then after the party we all came to our house. The kids climbed the apple tree and picked a lot of apples. The lady across the street made me some apple sauce and brought it to me at lunch time. She is amazing!! Her husband is currently doing his residency at a hospital here in town. She has 3 kids, twin boys and an older girl. I told her she could have as many apples as she wanted because I no longer have time to do anything with them!!!
Today in church Gerrick was tricked into volunteering for WWFx2! That stands for "Wesleyan Worship and Family Fun". This year he will help teach a class. He thought he was volunteering for a video, but was trapped into a planning meeting. I was happy he will be helping because then I don't feel bad about doing the women's Bible study instead of the couples study. I really like the ladies, and don't want to leave!!!
We are just hanging out at home today. I have some homework to do, but mostly housework to catch up on! The laundry is taking over the basement!!
I have a busy first full week. Not only school, but working at night as well. My boss gave me last week off, and that was good!! Now I am back to seeing Gerrick 4 hours a week! Oh well, we are used to it.
Time to switch the laundry.....again....and.....again.
