Video of Cookie Bakers

Hello. Home late again. I would have ran, but Melanie had the night off. I was not enough motivation for myself, so here I am at home at the computer.
Here is some video of the kids baking the cookies the other day. I haven't watched it yet, so it might suck. Hopefully it turned out well.

Long, Hot, Boring Day

Hello. Hope everyone is staying cool. We decided to stay away from the pool today. I have to get the house cleaned up for Jenny to come watch the kids. I have really neglected it with all the pool-going! Nothing major, just the dusting and wiping and stuff. Should only take me a few minutes, but I really didn't want to sit out in the sun again. Hard to believe I am saying that, but it is TOO HOT!!!
I have to work tonight, and I am HAPPY about that! I can't stand another day alone with these crazy kids! I love them, and they love me, but we all need a break from each other. I will run after work with Melanie. I haven't talked to her in a week, so it will be nice to catch up. We are the type of friends that don't talk often, but it is like we do when we are together. She is really a good friend.
We are thinking about coming up to Cedar Falls on Sunday. I would like to see some people and have the kids get together with their cousin Jordan. They don't get a lot of time together, so it would be fun.
Hope you all stay cool. I plan on staying in the air conditioned until I have to go to the hot kitchen at work. We have the buffet tonight, and the chaffers really heat up the dining room. Hope they have the air conditioner fixed.

Pool Fun

We had another great day at the pool. The kids really like that new pool. I tried to take pictures of the kids, but they are off in so many different directions that I can't keep track of them and take pics. These are the pictures that I got. Hopefully I can get some different pictures on Saturday when Gerrick can come along.
Has anyone been watching the America's Got Talent? Last night was great! The last act was a brother group. As soon as they started I commented that the singer couldn't sing very well. Then I felt like crap when the Brit that is on the show told the one brother to ditch his older brother! The boy cried! They ended up going on, but I wanted to cry with him. I really liked the hoop dancer, but the name Hoopalicious is a little ridiculous.
The kids are watching a movie, and I am SO ready for bed. Two and a half hours at the pool with 5 kids is enough to ware me out. Reagan finally decided, in 90 degree weather, that the pool is a good idea. So, she wanted to be completely submerged the entire time. I am glad she likes the water now, but listening to her scream every time I went to check on the others was getting old. I put her to bed after we got home, and I think she will sleep all night. It will probably bite me in the butt and I will be up at 4 a.m. with a crazy baby. Oh well, at least I will get to bed early tonight.
I am going to go watch the movie with the kids. I guess it is family time, even if it is in front of the t.v.

Hot Morning

Hello, it is hot already. I have put my weather pixie on a few times. If you go there you can have your location put in and pick your own person. It is kinda neat for the kids to see what they should wear with the weather.
I was up late again last night. Keghan never puked, but said she was sick. She was sweating and said she was dizzy and her stomach hurt. I put her in my bed and turned on the t.v. I, of course, gave her a bucket and asked nicely for her to not puke on my bed!! When I went in later she was better. I think she just needed to fart! We ate a lot of crap yesterday. I don't think her stomach handles that well. We had ice cream and cookies! That is a lot for us in one day!!! Shae even had a tummy ache at bed time.
I got a lot of response to Gerrick's hot photos. He wasn't all that excited that I put them out there, but I think they are great! He is looking for embarrassing pics of me, and I will humiliate my self if and when he finds them. As my mom pointed out, you can really see where the boys got their looks. It is hard to tell now, his face has softened over the years and years and years!!! I think he is cute!
Today I hope to go back to the pool. We had so much fun yesterday! Gerrick informs me this morning that he is going out of town, which I knew, but he is staying over night. I get a little upset that he decides to tell me today when he has known for two weeks. I wouldn't even know if my boss hadn't told me Gerrick called in to request tonight off. Isn't that a little weird to call in for someone else? Now he tells me that Jen will be here Friday to watch the kids. I am always the last to know!!! It doesn't help that my hormones might be a little out of wack!!!

BAKING COOKIES

Well, for once God didn't laugh at my plans! We went swimming AND baked cookies. We really had a great day. The kids played at the pool for over 2 hours. They were able to play in the sand and the water, so that kept them very busy! Reagan finally got tired, so we left. That pool is going to be my home away from home the next week. It looks like it will be hot and dry!
The kids liked baking cookies again. It has been a while. A few years back my wonderful Grandma told my children that cookies don't come out of a tube ready to bake. So, I learned to bake. Thank you Grandma, it is FUN!! The last time I baked cookies before I had kids was quite dissasterous. It was with my step-dad. We used cloves instead of cream of tartar. Needless to say, they were horrible. I have improved my baking skills since then. I tried a new recipe today. Carrot Cake Cookies. They are GREAT!!! Gerrick thinks they are the best cookies I have ever made. That is high praise from him!
We had a quick supper tonight, and it was Reagan's first meal after I took away her baby food. I realized the other day that she is almost 1 and still eating baby food. Shameless!!! I usually have my kids feeding themselves with a spoon by now. Oh well, she is my last after all! So, she is on her own. I will no longer allow Gerber to chew her food for her.
Keghan just interrupted my to tell me she feel dizzy and puke!! GRAND. So, I am off to hold hair in front of the porcelain god!

thought i would get a laugh at gerrick's expense! what a nerd! how did he ever land me =)~!!! hard to believe he was every this skinny.....guess that was pre-beer!!

Great Day

Most people are not too excited about this upcoming heat wave. But, not me. I am happy! My skinny little children might stay at the pool for longer than 58 minutes. I NEED the sun. I really believe that fresh air and sun light keep me sane. I don't get to leave the house alone until Friday this week. Gerrick will be out of town again on Thursday, so I can't work. I have to say, by Thursday I am ready to be gone. So, the idea of just being at the pool is reassuring. Hopefully I won't go insane!
The kids are playing restaurant. Keghan is the boss, of course, and she is mean!! She has already fired Shaelynn and Braydon. Dax (who can't talk well) is the only one who has kept his job. I can't believe that they choose to continue to play together when all they do is fight! They fight over what restaurant, what food, how much it costs, if they get change, where the drive through window is..... They drive ME crazy, but apparently they like it. They keep each other busy any way!
Reagan was up all night last night. I am really beginning to hate it. She is in the room with the girls so I have to get her up. The other kids I just let cry it out, but if I do that with her I have everyone else in my bed! She was up 4 times from 10 until 7! This leaves very little time for sleep! I played with her in bed from 7 til 8:30. Then I let her eat some cereal while I went and laid down. She is finally napping, but who knows how long that will last!
Dax is doing much better. Now, I am sure, someone else will get sick and we will not be able to do the pool or C.F. this weekend. I am praying they all stay healthy, but there is no space for quarantine in this house! I did bleach all the hard surfaces, and some of the toys he plays with the most. Hopefully that will help keep the others healthy!
We are baking cookies tonight for the girls to have a lemonade stand on Saturday. They have the Monopoly Jr. game that they got from their Uncle Joe and Aunt Abby. After winning several times they are confident in their abilities to have a successful business. So, I am footing all the start up capital in hopes of a Saturday without fighting. I am sure, whatever the costs, it is worth it.
Time to get lunch on the table. If the kids get an early rest we can be at the pool at 1 when it opens.

Feeling Better

Well, we are home and rested. I got up fairly late for me. I let the older kids watch t.v. while I laid in bed with Dax and Reagan. I was TIRED!! Dax was up all night tossing and turning, and that kept me up. His fever is much lower, but still there.
Last night in the waiting room I learned a lot about people. There were TONS of people there. At first I thought they were all low rent, maybe even drug seekers. I immediately stopped thinking like that and decided to pray for the people that were there. As I did this a very critical patient was brought in by ambulance. The lady that was sitting by the door let out a loud, "F***K!". I thought she might have know the person, but no. She continued with this disregard for others. She turned to the man next to her and said, " That is the 5th person to come in and get in before me!". I was appalled! How can someone think like this? But I just continued to pray for the people that were brought in, and the time passed much quicker. In the hospital that night there were 2 arrests. One man was intibated and the Dr. was pretty much calling around to see about organ donation. That hit me hard! To think that the problems of the people in the waiting room, i.e., burns, colds, bad livers, were even close to the problems of this family that is now facing the death of a loved one! It made me very glad that Dax's fever was coming down because of the sipository, even if that meant he was driving me crazy asking to go home!
That said, he was the cutest boy there! When the triage nurse asked us what was wrong I told her he has a fever and puked on my bed. Dax looked up at me through his haze of a 103.2 fever and said, "Forry I puked on your bed, Mommy!" I just hugged him real tight and told him he could puke on my bed whenever he wanted!!! He is the most polite kid I have. He was thanking the nurses for the sipository, the blood draw, and of course the popsicle. There was also a pregnant nurse. She was carrying her 4th boy! They had decided to name him DAX!!

Full Moon

Just got home form the hospital. I am tired, and it shows in my typing. I have had to hit the backspace button more than the actual letters! Dax was sick all after noon and spiked a fever of 103.2 degrees around 8 p.m. he then did a little projectile vomiting which prompted me to take him in. Unfortunately it was a full moon and the whole town was in the waiting room. We were in there at 8:30, and we got home 15 minutes ago at 1:15. You do the math, I am too tired to.

No Pool

Well, like all good plans today's are ruined. It is rather windy and chilly. I know my kids, and their skinny little bodies freeze if it is less than 85 degrees out. So, we are bumming around the house this morning, then off to the park. Maybe I can even do some running around the track if the girls choose to watch the babe. I am pretty disappointed about not going to the pool. I haven't laid out in 3 days!
The kids have been having a good couple of days. Yesterday they played in the backyard all day. Apparently they created a band by using sticks for drum sticks on the bottom of an old plastic planter, a big stick as a guitar, and a brush as a microphone. Keghan is the lead singer, of course, Braydon on drums and Dax on lead guitar. They are so cute!!! Keghan leads the band like she does everything else, with an iron fist. Braydon kept trying to be in front of her and she quickly told him his place was off to the side and in the back. It was HILARIOUS!! She, unfortunately has my singing ability. It sounded as though there was a cat being tortured on the steps!

Good Morning

Hello all! What a wonderful day it is outside. I am blogging while the kids rest so we can spend the rest of the day outside!
Last night was bad. I was at work from 5:30-11 and had 5 tables. That is not only pathetic, it is boring! My friend Brian was supervising, so we just sat around and chatted. He is currently going through a divorce and likes to have someone listen to him. I don't always think he likes what I have to say, but I guess that's why he talks to me, I am honest. I know that there are times when divorce is the correct answer, I just think that you should try everything first! Anyway, after I got home Gerrick went right to bed. It took all he had to wait up that late. So, I sat u and fed Reagan and got into a movie. I was up until 3:30!!! I got back up at 8 to get the kids ready for church, then I fell back asleep. Gerrick woke me up with just enough time to get off to church. I felt bad when I learned that I was supposed to be in the nursery and forgot. Luckily there weren't that many kids and I sat in the last service with only my kids!!!
Now we are resting and then off to the pool. We discovered one of the other pools in town and it is great! There are 2 slides that are in the shallow end for kids. Even Dax goes down and loves it! There is a lot of equipment in the water for all the kids, and there is also a sand play area. I will take pics today if I remember the camera.
