Thursday Night

Hello everyone. Glad to be able to get a post done. Pretty busy day today. I had class from 11 until 6. I had a little break, so I came home and cleaned the house while there was no one here!! It went a lot faster. Of course, it is a mess again, but at least I feel like I accomplished something. Now I am working on laundry. I have to leave for work right after I pick up the girls from school tomorrow, so no time to get it all done then.
I had a good day with classes. In German class I met a few new people. There is actually a girl in my class that is 16!!! She goes to a small high school and they pay for her to take classes there. It is a little wired to have a girl sit next to me who is 11 years my junior, but I am over it. She is really nice, and I wouldn't have guessed she was that young! There is also an older guy who, after 2 class periods, has asked me to help him...... I have also made some friends that are in BOTH my Microbiology and Human A&P I classes. So, we are together like 10 hours a week. It will be nice to have some girls to study with! They are really motivated as well, so we get along well. I got to see some bacteria under the scope today. We are also culturing some bacteria that we collected. I swabbed the soap dispenser in the bathroom. I don't think I really want to know what is on there, but I will see it next week. One of my lab partners swabbed the inside of her ring. Hate to see those results as well!!!
I have to say, I really like the teachers I have this year. I always hear people rating teachers and taking only classes that they know that teacher. I always just take the class and find out when I get there. I figure that I can succeed even if the teacher sucks, so I don't worry. But these teachers really turned out to be great!
The girls are having game day at school tomorrow. They are pretty excited. They are learning all the activities that will be available on the play ground at recess. I was happy to hear that they are hanging out on the play ground together. I would have never done that with my siblings, so it gives me a warm fuzzy!!! They even share friends and love walking together. Soon I will let them walk on their own, but not yet!!
Time to switch the laundry....Have a great night.

Getting Through Hump Day

Shae complaining about her shoes. Keghan complaining about her breakfast, and the both of them talking. Probably complaining about me and the camera on them all the time!!!! Aren't they sooo cute? They are really doing great at getting up and off to school with no complaints!

Reagan had her birthday cake tonight. Last night I was too stressed with everything else. She didn't mind.....
She's running!!! How cute!

Today was better, I got re-registered for my classes. The bad thing is my financial aid will be two more weeks. I was randomly selected for verification. The funny thing is, I have been selected EVERY time I have applied. So, no books for the classes, but I have the classes!!!! I had to buy the books for one class because we have homework due. It was $232!!!! One Class!!! It pretty much made me sick!!!

Have a great day.......I LOVE YOU DAD!!!

I'm Having a Beer

I am mad as heck, and I am having a beer when I am done with this.....even if it is just 5:00!!
Today I woke at 5:30 giddy as all get out for the first day of school. This year I was ready. I had my schedule to the sitter, the kid's year calendar of early offs and no school dates in my planner. I have Dr. appointments out of the way, and we had seen the dentist. So, I was set, nothing could throw me into confusion and disorder.....
UNTIL....I logged on to my school account to once again check the status of my loans. They still weren't in, but they never are the first day of classes. So, just to be extra organized I checked my schedule....it was missing. The computer told me I was not registered for classes. This came as a complete shock to me since I had registered at the end of the spring semester 1 minute after the open enrollment began. So, I called the school. I was transferred to enrollment services where I was told that I was "purged" from my classes. I was figuratively vomited out!! WHY? "Well," the women said, "you never paid your bill." I calmly told her that I have student loans pending, as I always do, and they pay for my school and books. Her reply, "Well, pending is as good as denied in my book, you should have paid your bill." And to this I say, "ma'am, if I had the money why would I take out student loans?' This fun conversation continued with neither of us becoming any nicer, until I started crying and hung up! So, as all crying women do, I called my mom, at work. I was in hysterics. She quickly calmed me down and told my to call back. I did, but I called financial aid. This time the woman was nice, and at least TRIED to help me. Unfortunately, after 20 minutes on hold and 20 minutes talking, there was nothing she could do. Back to the beginning. They told me I could re-register, but the classes that I had registered for had been filled. That's why I registered 1 minute into the registration last semester, the classes I am in are in high demand! So, I spent the day on the phone and computer trying to re-create a schedule that will work with my already standing work schedule and day care schedule. NOT FUN!!! I filled the full time requirements, but barely and with classes that my kids would enjoy. No, no, no, I didn't get into the underwater basket weaving, but maybe next semester. I did get back into my Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Microbiology, but not the German. So, I am going to the instructor and going to ask her to add me anyway. I would rather be in that class than 2 random dumb classes that just happen to fit in my schedule.
If you are still reading, thank you.....I need someone to listen to my complain!
Oh, and the girls had a good first day, and the kids had fun at the daycare. Reagan had a birthday party at Ruthie's, and we will have cake after dinner. All for today, I am rejecting the computer from my system for the rest of the day......time for BEER!!!

What a Glorious Day

I put the pics of Reagan on last night in case I didn't have time this morning. I can't believe how big she is! I bought her shoes for her birthday, and she can't walk in them. She has a pretty bad case of pigeon toes and they run into each other!!! She has fallen 4 times this morning. Nice gift, Mom!!
Today is Mommy Independence Day here in Cedar Rapids. We are celebrating with pancakes and grumpy kids. I will put pics on of the push-off, I mean "send-off". I am ready to throw Shae on the front lawn now. We went and bought her school shoes yesterday, and she loved them. Now she is crying and throwing them at me saying they itch. Since when do shoes itch. I am about at my wits end with her. Nothing is good enough, and she is CONSTANTLY complaining.
Off to push them to school......HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, REAGAN

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REAGAN!!!! MY WONDERFUL BABY IS TURNING ONE! HARD TO BELIEVE THAT JUST ONE YEAR AGO TODAY I WAS GETTING UP AND HEADING OFF TO THE HOSPITAL. I WAS MORE THAN READY. IN MY MIND I WAS TWO WEEKS OVER DUE, AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. GERRICK WAS READY, AND THE FAMILY WAS ANXIOUSLY AWAITING HER ARRIVAL. BY 4 O'CLOCK WE HAD OUR 10LB 3.7OZ HALF GROWN BABY. SHE WAS WELCOMED HAPPILY BY MOM, DAD AND GRANDMA HOFFMAN. GRANDMA'S COMMENT WAS THAT SHE WAS WITHOUT WRINKLES.....COMPLETELY FILLED IN WITH FAT!!! SHE WAS ALERT AND READY FOR LIFE! IN HER EXAM SHE WAS ALREADY ON HER ELBOWS AND KNEES!!!

A YEAR HAS PASSED AND SHE STILL HAS US ALL BY THE HEART STRINGS. THE KIDS HAVE ENJOYED TAKING TURNS MAULING HER, CHANGING HER, CHASING HER, BUT THEY ALL LOVE HER ALL THE TIME!!!

I AM SAD TO BE LOSING MY BABY, BUT I KNOW THAT THE YEARS AHEAD ARE GOING TO BE GREAT. THERE ARE FIRST SENTENCES, FIRST POTTY IN THE POTTY, FIRST NIGHT IN A BIG BED, FIRST TIME IN A BIG GIRL CHAIR AT THE DINNER TABLE AND FIRST TIME I AM NOT PREGNANT AT A FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY!!! OK, THAT LAST ONE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HER!

EVERYONE ENJOY THE DAY, I KNOW WE WILL. WHAT A HAPPY DAY IN THE STOTSER HOUSEHOLD!

Last Weekend of Summer

Well, the last weekend of summer for my kids flew by. Gerrick spent in on a roof learning how to shingle. Needless to say (but i'll say it anyway) HE HATED IT! Actually he did real well. A little sore, but he says he enjoyed the work. I was bummed to have him gone ALL weekend, but we did need the money!
The kids and I spent the weekend hanging out around the house. There was a lot of things I wanted done inside before I started school again. By the way, I am NOT looking forward to school. The freshness and excitement have worn off the whole school thing, now I just want it done! Anyway, we cleaned and are getting stuff ready for our block garage sale. We waited until later to get the bigger crowd. Where I live they have garage sales EVERY WHERE! I think the only time there isn't a garage sale is when there is too much snow on the driveway! The kids also want to have a lemonade stand....but it might be a hot chocolate stand by the time we get it going!!!
Today we are off to buy school shoes. I would like something to wear other than my running shoes and flip flops! The girls NEED tennis shoes for gym, they are not even really allowed to wear flip flops to school any more. What happened to the good ol' days when jelly shoes were good enough for the giant manly-women gym teacher? Oh well, I guess they can wear proper feet attire this year. I also am going to get my books....hopefully. I just got my financial aid in, and it takes a while to get it to the school so I can use it for my books. I think I can manage the first few classes without the books....maybe!
Here are some pictures from last weekend when Lauren was here. She got lots of love!!!
