Hello to all. Sorry I have been gone for a while again. What a week!!!
Some of you know the drama, but for those far away, here it is....
I had an appointment scheduled for another ultrasound on Monday to ease my mind about the D&C. I just wanted to make sure that the baby had been "aged" correctly before so I felt comfortable with the procedure. I just still felt "pregnant". After getting Reagan in the bath Monday morning, I went down. I had horrible cramps from my ribs to my bottom. I had never had a miscarriage, and just thought this was it. I couldn't even get Reagan back out, so I called Gerrick home. I called and canceled the appointment because of the pain. Then Gerrick called back and told the nurse that I was light headed and in a lot of pain. She wanted me in as soon as possible. I jumped in the bath. against the nurses orders, and got up there as soon as I could. They took me straight back to the ultrasound room. I knew it was bad when the ultrasound tech called the doctor in. He informed me that it was twins and the other twin was in the tube and had ruptured. There was blood in there, and I had to have surgery right away. I was too scared to be sad for too long. I was under within the hour. He had to remove my right tube and take out the other baby that was in the uterus. Gerrick, of course, was upset. He heard internal bleeding and had the whole family driving in the snow to be here. Apparently the doctor said that it looked as though I had been bleeding all night. My hemoglobin was fine, and I never needed a transfusion. So, that was good. Mom came down and stayed at the hospital with me until I could stand on my own. I took a lot longer than they had told me!!! But, eventually I got home.
I still haven't really dealt with the emotional part of all this. The physical is really keeping me busy. I feel like I have been hit by a truck!! Luckily Mom stayed overnight Monday and helped me with the kids and house. That saved me!!! Today I am back in school, and tomorrow I will be back at work.
It is hard to imagine our house being blessed with twins, I know it would have been GREAT! But, the Lord is in control. My life is blessed as is, and I am just happy to be healthy and home!
Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts. I am so lucky to have such great family and friends.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Megan,
Rachel and I are happy that you made it through the surgery well. I am really sorry for you loss. I just want to tell you that you are one of the most incredible Moms I have ever known. I know that I certainly could not do what you do. You and Gerrick are truly blessed!
Bryce and Rachel
After spending the day with you yesterday, I know you ARE very blessed with the family you have. Those kids are great and hilarious! I hated to leave but I'm trying to find out how normal and boring life was before Christmas! Tom is in Clinton until Friday so I slept tonight. I feel much better!
Thank you both. My kids make life worth every minute!! Dax was so sad to see you go, Mom, but I keep counting down the days until the pool party and he is making it through!!!
Grandpa VL and Grandma VL were talking this evening and we decided that you sure do have Grandpa's trait. And that is a positive attitude. No matter what comes your way you get through it with flying colors. Just wanted to let you know how we feel about you and your family. And you do have a great husband and children. You are blessed!.
